You meet an amazing guy with everything that you want but something is missing about them. You can think of all the reasons you could and should be with him. Well why aren’t you? Simply put, he’s just a great friend. Congratulations you’ve just put someone in the friendzone.

It’s not a bad thing, it’s better than putting them in a relationship that you don’t want. But what does it actually mean when you put someone in the friendzone? Can you still get the benefits with out all the commitment? Not exactly. The friendzone is a tender place, it basically means you’re a nice guy and I want you in my life only as a friend. A lot of people don’t get that, you can’t flirt with someone you put in the friendzone, nor can you have sex with them. You have to maintain that friendship, because you want to be just friends right?

Sometimes you think that you’re immune to it, you’re not. Just like everyone else. If you’re not sure if you are or aren’t here’s some questions to ask yourself. When you two go out does he/she always bring a friend? Do you usually go dutch or do they pay? How often do you hear ‘you’re a great friend’ from them. And of course the most obvious one, if you try to take it a step further they laugh you off or just say no.

Of course their feelings will be hurt, it’s not fun having your feelings hurt. But it’s not the end of the world though you can still have a meaningful relationship and just be friends. Also please understand that there is hope once you’re friendzoned. You can find your way out, but how is completely up to the person. At the end of the day if you’re there for anyone they’ll love you for it. Just remember, it’s better to be a friend than nothing at all.
