Let me tell you about my hairstory. I have natural hair, since about 2006, I stopped getting relaxers and I rarely get extentions (but that’s for a whole ‘nother reason). I flat iron my hair often to keep my style intact and my hair looking smooth. As you can imagine that causes damage, even with the best heat protector. My hair will get frizzy and lifeless, it also doesn’t help that the weather has been bad and I had an unflattering haircut. So I decided to try out Carol’s Daughter’s Chocolat Smoothing collection that is for unruly frizzy hair.

When I took it out the sample bottle ( I wasn’t about to buy a full size of a product I wasn’t sure was going to work) I was greeted with a sugar cookie like smell that I loved! I began with the shampoo that was very light. Then followed with a very thick conditioner, and I mean thick! I smoothed it all over let it sit for a moment then rinsed. When I got out the shower my hair looked moisturized, like there was a shine and everything, the frizz was zapped and my curls never looked curlier! Not to mention my hair smelled like sugar. I applied the blow dry cream on my hair and let it air dry. It looked and felt the same way after about 20 minutes, which it usually looks like a dry crispy afro.
And don’t even get me started on when I blow dried and flat ironed it. It was smooth, it was silky and it smelt like I was baking cookies. I have to say I love it! Everything about it! And I know you’re thinking that it cost out the whoo-ha for something this good. Nope the whole set (including the blow dry cream) is only about $54, but they’re having a summer sale and it’s only 43.20 right now! Get it here And take it from a girl who wouldn’t pay more than $15 for a anything dealing with my hair, it’s worth it! and it’s been looking amazing in rain or shine I still have not seen frizz.
*Note the photos are with my hair re-cut, so no one will ever see that hideous boxy cut I got 😦

Rule #1: Wet & Condition
The main reason that our hair frizzes and acts a mess is because of all the harmful chemicals and dirt that is already in the water. To counteract that, wet and condition before you head out to the waves. This will make sure your hair absorbs only what you want it to that yummy conditioner you love so much that’s super good for your hair.
Rule #2: Enhance and Part it
Yes Style it, use products that enhance your curls so your hair is already curly when you get to the beach and style your hair the way you want them to fall. Try to part it somewhere so you can avoid the square flat top or the slick back that (let’s face it ) doesn’t flatter us all. A side part is always good this is only to be used if your hair is going to be down. If not…
Rule #3: Condition and Style
If you’re not into the whole being free thing, maybe your hair is to thick or you’re just a skeptic. Style your hair, just make sure your ends are protected. Try tying your hair up into a big bun yes with the donut and everything just make sure you put the conditioner in the donut too so you’ll be getting double the moisture. Or rock some Poetic Justice Braids you’ll still need to coat your hair with conditioner but you’ll look fly. Lest we forget out the lovely twist out style, or a simple turban, that’s always amazing. the most important thing is to condition!!!

|The tools to make it happen!|
You’re coming home from work, and you’re dead tired. All you want to do it sit down, and watch some bad TV. Suddenly, your friend calls begging you to come out. You really want to stay home yet, moments later, you find yourself at the club getting groped to death by some perv. Sound familiar? We’ve all been there, agreeing to do something you really don’t want to. So how do you fix this little dilemma? Start saying NO! It’s the easiest thing that you can do, that a lot of people don’t. I myself had this problem, I always got stuck doing things I never wanted to do, until the day I learned the word no. It was so relieving! I found that people didn’t get as upset as I thought they would, in fact, a lot of people were OK with it. No one was hurt, offended, or felt like I had rejected them it was fine. Now instead of people walking all over me, they respect me, ask me if I want to do something instead of assuming I’ll just say yes. It’s so liberating, so if you’re anything like me and got tired of doing agreeing to do things that you really don’t want to then follow these 4 little tips to get some independence.
Realize you don’t owe them
A lot of times I felt obligated to go do something for someone for one reason or another. You’re not, everything is an option, EVERYTHING.
Say NO and mean it
If you don’t feel like going, you don’t feel like going. They don’t need a reason, they just need an answer, and the answer is no. Not ” I really want to but I promised….” they just need “No, not tonight, maybe another time.”
Think about what you want, and say it
If you don’t like your friend always borrowing your stuff, tell them. No one is a mind reader, you have to tell them it’s a problem before they know it is.
Don’t seem mad
Even if you are a little mad, you can’t seem upset. When you seem confrontational the other person will get defensive, to avoid this problem change your words. Instead of “why”, try “what” e.g. What did you do? instead of why did you do that? It’s a lot warmer.
These days there are hundreds of different gladiator sandals on the high street in a myriad of styles and designs that will suit every body shape – providing you know how to wear them.
Whether you’re tall or short, skinny or curvy, you can make gladiator sandals work for you if you understand the best way to compliment your body type.
Whilst you don’t often hear people complaining about being too tall, there are lots of girls out there who want to make sure that they compliment their long legs whilst still looking elegant. Flat gladiators are the perfect shoe to achieve this and you can add a touch of glamour to any outfit with gladiator sandals in a metallic finish. Long legs look great in calf or knee high gladiators too so why not make a statement and supersize your sandals?
Many girls with shorter legs make the mistake of choosing gladiators that stop directly at their ankle. When you cover your ankle, you’re covering the slimmest part of your leg which can end up making your legs look thicker and shorter. To avoid this problem look for a sandal that stops just below the ankle instead. You could also choose a gladiator with a wedge heel to make your legs look longer and more toned.
If you’ve got skinny legs and you’d like to give them a bit more shape, then knee high gladiator sandals could be the answer. Straps around your calves will make your legs appear thicker, but avoid wedges as these will slim your legs further. However, it’s important that you make sure you keep the rest of your outfit simple to avoid looking like you’re attending a fancy dress party.
If you’ve got thick legs, then avoid gladiator sandals that go higher than just below your ankle. Calf or knee length gladiators will only draw attention to the bits of your legs you don’t like, lowering your confidence level. To lengthen and slim your leg as much as possible, look for a gladiator sandal with a wedge and a t-bar strap that goes right down the middle of your foot. Team these with long, loose fitting trousers or shorts to create the illusion of longer legs and give you a stylish and chic appearance.
If you’re anything like me going to the beauty bar can be a little confusing. you go in looking for your concealer thinking you know your shade until you get home and its all wrong; even worse when you can’t make it stay and it fades by lunch time. Never fear those lost in beauty world, I have easy simple fix for all your concealer problems.
Picking the right shade:
Probably the one most of us have a problem with, the most important thing is that you focus on your undertones. If you have fair skin choose a concealer that has pink undertones to neutralize the darkness. If you have medium/olive skin pick two shades, one shade being lighter than your natural skin tone to highlight the center of your face and the second to match the rest. Lastly if you have a darker skin tone match the natural highlights that you have.
**Sidenote: I know that the sales people can be really pushy sometimes but they are there for a reason! Use them they can offer great advice and help you find the perfect shade
Now that you’ve chosen the perfect concealer it’s time to try it out! If you’re using the concealer under the eyes use a medium size brush and gently blend out. For the rest of the face use a small slightly stiff concealer brush and lightly press in to the skin.
Making it Last:
Ok so here’s the tricky part, now that you have everything you have to make it last all night long! And it’s super easy, first apply your foundation all over your face, then figure out what you need more coverage over and lightly apply the amount desired. Stand back and look to see if all your imperfections are covered if not, feel free to add a little more!
I know, I’ve been a little faulty with the You Tube. It’s been more rants and less about actual fashion but that is set to change soon I recently updated it with a review of shoes and tips that will be on there and some more fabulous things but check out the video about and let me know what you think and what you want to see!
It happens to all of us, you meet a great guy who is just awesome has his life together and he treats you like a princess hell he’s mom even likes you. Just as you thought you heard the faint bells of matrimony you’re out in the streets with out a prayer with nothing but the Kleenex to wipe up your broken heart. What’s a girl to do? Well don’t fret my puppet instead of telling you that bull about there are plenty of fish in the sea we’re going to tell you the fastest way to heal that broken heart.
First things first. Cry, let it out. Get all your favorite tear jerker movies, some chocolates, Kleenex and a cold bottle of wine and let it all out. Play a sad song and just let it out then rest and take a long nap, just relax.
After that get your girl on the phone and announce your heart break. Let the soft woos and sorrys fill your ears and then feel free to let out the hurt again. Make yourself your favorite dinner and eat til your little heart is so full you fall back a sleep with your last tear jerker movie on.
Have a relax day with out your girls. Pick up on your reading, watch sex and the city, or just take a stroll around the park, maybe even do some volunteer work get out and do some things that make you feel amazing. Do and think about all the things you can do now that you’re single again and remind yourself that you don’t need anyone there for you but you.
Next day, wake up and realize that it’s a new day time to start over. Call your girls and go out and about to pick up your sour mood. Go shopping for a show stopping dress, get your hair and nails done and go out on the town that night. Celebrate your new found single-dom with dancing and shots! Have an after party at your place with movies and pop corn soon you’ll start realizing how much of a jerk he was and that you were probably to good anyway.
Lastly, time to go back on the hunt(or at least notice that cutie that has been given you the eye). Get all cute and go have some coffee. Make some eye contact and finally realize that your free to do whatever and enjoy the fact that you’re hot, young and can have anyone that you want. 🙂
