Once again it’s time for a debate! (Get your engines running)

Another day another photographer with a sexual assault. In this case it’s Terry Richardson. If you don’t know who he is, he’s basically Lady Gaga’s personal photographer. He’s the mad behind Beyonce‘s GQ shoot, and Rihanna‘s Rolling Stones cover shoot. He is known for his risky, over sexual and raw photos. Even on his tumblr there are exposed nipples and raunchiness everywhere, so it’s no surprised that he has (or had) a sexual assault charge. Apparently, according to The Fashion Spot, the photographer had asked the simple, innocent question ” May I have a hand job?” whilst he wagged his penis at at model. Now no that’s not OK terry, that’s not OK at all…
One of Terry’s most favorite models (Charlotte Free) took to his defense on her tumblr ( a comment that was soon deleted) when one of her followers asked where she stood on the charge. She responds..
“Terry likes to do sexy stuff, that’s his shit. If you don’t wanna be part of it, make it clear in the beginning. Don’t willingly blow the man and get all mad and ashamed later…I hate when girls say ‘but he asked me to.’ You should have said no then, stupid bitch! There’s plenty of other girls waiting in line, so he’s not forcing you to do shit. When you make a choice you have to live with it — unless someone got you fucked up against your will.”
and as you guessed the fashion world is not to happy with it, they say it’s not right and they have grounds too it’s not okay to take advantage of someone just because you’re in a position of power. But to her defense, she makes a valid point. If you don’t like the way you’re being treated at work or in any situation, you can leave, no one is making you do it. Just in real life, if someone says they’ll give you a job if you give them a “job” then you can get up and leave. Now don’t get me wrong, I know this is the fashion industry, models don’t have any real protection(neither do you if you go into a job interview). I’m not trying to blame the victim or anything she made the right decision in filing the lawsuit (round of applauds). As people being up in arms about Charlotte Free’s comment, although her presentation was wrong her message was clear “If you don’t want to do it, or are offended by it, don’t do it.” Just like if you work at McDonald’s and you don’t feel like you’re getting paid enough or the working conditions are unacceptable, you leave.
I’m not trying to defend Terry, he was wrong(if he really did do it). What I am saying is I know this is your career and you shouldn’t be subjected to that kind of behavior, but shit happens, if you don’t like the shit leave the situation. I understand it’s your dream, and they’re trying to use it to overpower you and everything but you shouldn’t be subjected to that kind of behavior. If you are (god forbid) subjected to the situation and you don’t know what to do ask yourself this “What’s more important, dignity or your dream” Hopefully you say dignity and you leave that perv dick out and all.
Love,
Kimberly
